Hailing from Angleton, TX, La Soledad has a solid, classic Tejano sound featuring powerful vocal harmonies and tight rhythm section, accentuated by bright accordion, keyboards and melodic saxophone.
While their rancheras are reminiscent of the David Lee Garza-style Tejano that made Tejano a powerhouse genre in the 1990s, La Soledad has clearly taken the style and made it their own, while remaining faithful to the Tejano beat.
La Soledad is a tight-knit group of musicians, including Jimmy Isais on lead vocals and saxophone, guitarist Kito Estrada, bassist Junior Cantu, accordionist Alex Ramirez, keyboardist Ismael Ayala and drummer Rene Sedillo. Saxophonist Gabriel Gonzales passed away in September 2016 after a brief illness.
The group is signed to Hacienda Records and has recently been in the studio recording a new album, which should be released soon.
